BOLOGNA -a city of three nicknames

La dotta, la Grassa, la Rossa (the intellectual, the Fat, the Red) are three Bologna’s nicknames. The first due to its university which dates back to 1088, the second refers to its opulent culinary tradition and the third is simply a colour of bricks dominating in the city’s buildings.
